In a move to enhance payment flexibility for travelers, Klarna has partnered with Aven Hospitality. This collaboration aims to introduce Klarna’s pay-in-full, interest-free instalment plans, and extended financing options through the Aven Booking Engine.

Initial deployment of this feature will take place in the United States, Sweden, Germany, Austria, Norway, and Finland, with further expansion planned for other regions throughout 2026.

This initiative targets a market where consumers often rely on credit cards for financing hotel stays due to high transaction values and upfront payment demands. Hotels connected to the Aven Booking Engine stand to benefit from reduced booking obstacles and increased customer demand.

Context and Strategic Expansion

The integration bolsters Klarna’s footprint in the travel sector, one of the most valuable segments within consumer commerce, alongside retail. Offering flexible payment terms at the point of hotel reservation caters to diverse traveler needs, including families, couples, and budget-conscious younger travelers who value control over their financial transactions.

This addition also provides hotels with a tool to minimize booking delays or cancellations caused by stringent upfront payment policies.

Klarna’s David Sykes highlighted that integrating Klarna into Aven’s Booking Engine offers travelers greater flexibility right from the start. Ethan Wiseman, Head of Distribution and Product Management at Aven Hospitality, emphasized that flexible options during the booking process are now a standard expectation for guests.
