Ebury, a global financial services provider, recently announced the introduction of local German accounts with dedicated IBANs. These new accounts offer SMEs and institutional clients direct access to Germany’s national payment infrastructure.

According to the official press release, these accounts support payments in 19 currencies and are designed to seamlessly integrate with major enterprise resource planning (ERP) and accounting systems.

The new offering features connectivity with DATEV and SAP, allowing for automated daily transmission of account turnover data to financial accounting departments and tax advisors. Additionally, integration with the Electronic Banking Internet Communication Standard (EBICS) supports secure execution of payment orders within established corporate treasury workflows. This makes it possible to integrate the accounts into existing financial processes without necessitating separate systems or manual data handling.

Market Positioning and Client Use Cases

Local IBANs are essential for businesses operating in Germany, as they align with national payment infrastructure and corporate banking standards, facilitating optimal integration with counterparties, ERP systems, and regulatory reporting processes. The new accounts target German subsidiaries, special purpose vehicles, and institutional clients that require local account capabilities alongside Ebury’s existing international payment and foreign exchange services.

By extending its local account infrastructure to Germany, Ebury aims to support multi-currency collections across various markets while addressing one of Europe’s most structured corporate banking landscapes.

In a related development, Klaus Hoffmann, Country Manager for Germany at Ebury, highlighted the importance of local German IBANs in facilitating efficient integration into the national payment system. He also noted that these accounts simplify the embedding of international payments into existing financial processes. Menne Mennes, Managing Director of Ebury Institutional Solutions, further emphasized that the new offering complements Ebury’s private market services for German subsidiaries and special purpose vehicles by enhancing operational efficiency through local account and payment infrastructure access.
