US-based ACI Worldwide has introduced ACI Connetic for Cards, adding card payments capabilities to the company’s cloud-native payments platform, ACI Connetic.
This new feature expands ACI Connetic’s existing account-to-account and fraud prevention services by incorporating card issuing, acquiring, ATM, and self-service banking functions into one unified system.
ACI Connetic was first unveiled in 2025 as a comprehensive cloud-native platform that combines account-to-account payments, card payments, and AI-driven anti-fraud measures. The introduction of ACI Connetic for Cards applies the same modern architecture to improve card payment processes, which process over 300 billion cards transactions annually across various banking services.
Key Features and Modernization Goals
The new suite is designed to manage the entire transaction life cycle, from data capture and authentication through all channels, intelligent transaction routing, authorization, and clearing for settlement. It offers a cloud-native, API-first platform integrated with fraud management and digital identity tools.
As global card transactions are on the rise, reaching 776 billion in 2024 and projected to hit 1.1 trillion annually by 2029—a 43% increase driven by contactless technology, e-commerce growth, and B2B digitalization—ACI Connetic for Cards is positioned as a solution that modernizes card payment operations without raising operational risks during the transition.
Thomas Warsop, CEO and President of ACI Worldwide, highlights how this launch integrates the ACI Connetic standard into retail payments, updating essential banking services like issuing, acquiring, and ATM functions. He notes that it offers a secure pathway to new payment methods without compromising existing operations.
Bill Farris, Head of Issuing and Acquiring at ACI Worldwide, emphasizes the platform’s unified cloud-native structure with enhanced fraud and identity intelligence, enabling better resilience and operational efficiency.

Solaris SE, a financial institution based in Germany, is already benefiting from ACI Connetic. Peter Hüftlein, Head of Product Accounts at Solaris SE, mentions that the platform’s unified cloud-native approach simplifies operations and accelerates innovation across different payment types, providing greater control over payments.
