Intuit and Anthropic have partnered for a multi-year collaboration, aiming to deploy custom AI agents for mid-market businesses and integrate financial tools into Anthropic’s products.
The partnership will introduce these advancements through Intuit’s technology platform, encompassing TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, while utilizing Anthropic’s Claude models. The rollout is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2026 for both Intuit customers and Anthropic users.
Operating on two tracks, the first will enable mid-market businesses to build and deploy AI agents directly onto the Intuit platform using Anthropic’s Claude Agent SDK. These agents are tailored to support compliant workflows and can be customized to specific industries with minimal technical expertise required. The second track involves integrating Intuit’s financial intelligence into Anthropic’s products—such as Claude.ai, Claude for Enterprise, and Cowork—using Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations.
Custom agents and practical applications
The agent-building capability targets businesses that need to integrate data from multiple operational systems. For instance, a multi-location food-service operator could deploy an AI agent combining sales, inventory, payroll, and cost data for Intuit Enterprise Suite to analyze margin variances across different locations. Similarly, a construction subcontractor might configure an agent linking project timelines, subcontractor payments, cash flow forecasts, and compliance deadlines.
For individual users or smaller businesses, the MCP integrations with Intuit’s products will enable Claude users to generate invoices, estimate tax refunds, or access TurboTax filing support directly within Anthropic’s environment. These functionalities are designed to leverage each user’s specific data under their permission.
Engineering and infrastructure
Intuit is also leveraging Claude Code across its engineering operations as a means to enhance internal development and software delivery processes.
All experiences developed through this partnership will operate within Intuit’s existing security, compliance, and data privacy framework. The company’s AI governance structure plays a crucial role in managing the outputs from this collaboration.
This deal represents a broader trend in enterprise AI where established financial platforms are integrating capabilities into general-purpose AI environments to extend their utility rather than building standalone products. For mid-market businesses, access to configurable AI agents through an existing platform could lower the adoption barrier compared to creating custom tools independently. The focus on compliance-oriented workflows highlights the regulatory complexities associated with financial, payroll, and tax processes in this market segment.
