Yowpay, headquartered in Luxembourg, has partnered with Akurateco to enhance access to SEPA-based A2A (account-to-account) payments for payment service providers and merchants operating within Europe.

This collaboration involves integrating Yowpay’s SEPA orchestration capabilities into Akurateco’s white-label payment software, which is utilized by a wide range of PSPs, banks, and large merchants. Through this arrangement, Akurateco’s clients will be able to integrate SEPA transfers as an alternative payment option within their current payment systems. This integration enables PSPs and acquirers using Akurateco to activate SEPA payments for merchants without the need for additional external systems, while allowing merchants to connect directly where relevant.

Adding SEPA Integration to Akurateco’s Payment Platform

Akurateco offers payment orchestration software designed to support complex acquiring setups, including transaction routing, cascading, and management of multiple acquiring relationships. The platform also supports alternative payment methods, merchant administration, and transaction analytics, allowing clients to manage card and non-card payments through a unified interface.

Incorporating Yowpay’s technology extends Akurateco’s alternative payment method offering to include managed SEPA layers, supporting both consumer-to-business and business-to-business payment flows. This is especially relevant in markets where bank transfers are frequently used. According to Akurateco officials, the addition of SEPA transfers offers PSPs more flexibility when providing euro payments and may help reduce dependency on card-based transactions.

Yowpay operates as a SEPA payment orchestrator without acting as a merchant-of-record. Its services include the provision of dedicated business IBANs, various payment initiation options like QR codes and Open Banking, and automated reconciliation and reporting. Representatives from Yowpay state that this model allows merchants to receive funds directly and manage reconciliation independently.

The partnership is aimed at supporting European and international merchants operating within the eurozone by broadening payment choices and simplifying SEPA adoption through existing payment infrastructures.
