Australia-based Vivi Money has introduced an AI-driven financial platform, leveraging Pismo’s infrastructure and integrating with Visa’s global payments network.

This platform is based on Pismo’s core banking system and is linked to Visa through Novatti’s BIN sponsorship agreement. The initial offerings include a globally accepted Visa debit card, foreign exchange services, and high-interest savings accounts.

Customers can link their external bank accounts, loans, and savings from other institutions, allowing the platform to monitor cash flow, liabilities, and interest expenses in real time. Instead of merely displaying spending data and balances, the service aims to help users distribute funds among different accounts, debt, and savings as their financial situations evolve.

Infrastructure and Technology Stack

Pismo supplies the core banking infrastructure supporting both transactional and savings accounts at Vivi. Vivi utilizes Pismo’s APIs within its broader technological framework. The modular architecture of the platform was a critical factor in Vivi’s choice to partner with Pismo, facilitating quicker introduction of new products and features compared to legacy systems. This also paves the way for potential expansion into other markets where Pismo is already operational.

This partnership echoes common trends in financial technology, where specialized providers supply regulated and technical components integrated into consumer-facing products. For Pismo, this collaboration expands its presence in the Australia and New Zealand market, where the company is exploring opportunities with banks and fintechs seeking to replace older, fragmented systems.

The core of Vivi’s offering involves Open Banking data that consolidates various financial relationships into a unified view. The platform can then recommend more suitable repayment options, savings balances, and cash allocations based on user needs, placing Vivi among the growing segment of fintechs moving beyond simple account aggregation to directly managing users’ finances.

Target Market and Competitive Context

Vivi’s primary focus is on digitally savvy consumers who frequently travel or manage money across borders or currencies. The inclusion of foreign exchange services and a globally accepted debit card supports this market positioning. Vivi describes its product as an additional layer over existing banking relationships, enabling users to keep their current accounts while utilizing the platform for broader financial management.

The competition in this space is intensifying, with fintechs distinguishing themselves through cashback programs, lower fees, or AI-driven recommendations and automated actions. Vivi’s strategy emphasizes AI-powered money management, with its co-founder indicating that additional features are being developed post-launch.

Visa’s involvement provides Vivi access to an established international payments network, while Pismo manages the account-processing layer. A company spokesperson noted that these partnerships enable Vivi to pursue global scale effectively.
