Upvest, a Germany-based company specializing in API-first investment infrastructure solutions, has recently secured a significant $125 million financing round. This round includes an equity raise of $90 million and a debt facility of $35 million.

The equity portion was spearheaded by Sapphire Ventures and Tencent, while existing investors Bessemer Venture Partners and BlackRock continued to support the company. According to Bloomberg, this funding round values Upvest at approximately $736 million, marking a substantial increase from its Series C valuation in December 2024.

This financing comes one year after Upvest’s previous $115 million Series C raise and follows a period of significant growth. The company processed over 100 million orders for clients in 2025, more than quadrupling the 20 million orders from the previous year. Currently, it serves over 30 financial institutions across Europe and the UK, including well-known players like Revolut, N26, Bunq, and Raisin.

Plans for Capital Deployment and Product Expansion

Upvest intends to use these funds to expand into Europe’s major markets and enhance its product capabilities in two key areas. First, the company will support local pension tax wrappers such as the Altersvorsorgedepot in Germany and SIPPs (Self-Invested Personal Pensions) in the UK, enabling financial institutions to launch pension products more efficiently through its API infrastructure. Second, Upvest is launching AI-supported investment engines that offer real-time, programmable execution APIs designed for building personalized advisory services at scale for retail investors.

This round also highlights a growing demand from banks, brokers, and wealth managers who are looking to modernize their legacy systems and capture the opportunities in retail investing, especially as European retail investment activities continue to expand amidst fragmented regulatory environments.

In comment on this development, Martin Kassing, CEO and co-founder of Upvest, stated that the round demonstrates the company’s momentum as a preferred choice for financial institutions aiming to launch and scale investment experiences across Europe. Andreas Weiskam, Partner at Sapphire Ventures, added that Upvest is moving into new asset classes, local tax wrappers, and AI-enabled capabilities to drive the next generation of personalized investing solutions.
