Global fintech firm Unlimit has recently announced the integration of M-Pesa, Mixx by Yas, and Airtel Money into its services in Tanzania.
This move is designed to tackle the financial landscape of the region, where a large percentage of the population remains unbanked.
Furthermore, this integration enhances Unlimit’s offerings for Tanzanian businesses. The solution provides access to a secure and comprehensive suite of national, regional, and global payment methods. It also allows merchants and businesses to reach a new customer base, making transactions simpler and helping to reduce churn rates. This development is expected to promote a more efficient and inclusive payment experience.
Expansion of Unlimit’s Presence in Tarzania
The official press release highlights that by incorporating dominant local payment methods, Unlimit aims to support both banked and unbanked users. Additionally, the company plans to facilitate international brands’ entry into and expansion within this market, as well as enable Tanzanian businesses to better connect with their target audiences in a secure and efficient manner.
Currently, Tanzania is swiftly emerging as a regional digital payments hub, with its mobile money market valued at over USD 80 billion annually. The trend indicates a decline in cash payments and an increase in overall digital transaction volumes.
