Uber has extended its partnership with Mastercard to expand payment functionalities across its global platform.
This agreement builds on existing North American initiatives and introduces new services in additional international markets, such as the United Kingdom.
A key element of the collaboration is the further rollout of the Uber Pro Card, a tool already active in the US and Canada. The card enables drivers and couriers to access their earnings immediately without fees. It also includes fuel-related cashback benefits and will be updated to include Mastercard’s One Credential system.
Better financial tools for platform earners
The expansion of the Uber Pro Card is part of Uber’s broader strategy to enhance its financial tools for platform earners. According to officials, providing workers with faster access to funds and flexible financial services remains a priority amidst ongoing global cost-of-living pressures.
Under the renewed agreement, Uber will utilize Mastercard Move for real-time fund transfers and Mastercard Gateway for digital payment processing and fraud prevention. The integration of Mastercard One Credential is also planned to simplify the payment experience for users.
The Mastercard Offers Platform will be available to consumers using Uber’s mobility and delivery services. This platform aims to provide benefits to global Mastercard cardholders, enhancing their user experience.
Uber representatives view this partnership as a way to better serve users who depend on the platform for both income and everyday transactions. Mastercard officials note that the agreement brings together a large base of Mastercard cardholders and merchants with Uber’s global network, fostering payment efficiency and business growth for both companies.
