The partnership introduces a new solution for businesses, financial institutions, merchant acquirers, payment service providers, and other fintech companies. Pomelo’s B2B platform facilitates smooth payments and merchant acquiring services, providing a seamless white label solution that enables businesses to enable their merchants or partners to accept popular international payment methods.

Through this collaboration, Pomelo has enhanced its offerings by allowing more businesses to accept cryptocurrencies directly using secure QR codes and payment link technology.

TripleA, licensed by Singapore’s Central Bank, is a white-label crypto payment gateway that connects both cryptocurrency users and non-users worldwide. This service offers instant confirmations, locked-in exchange rates, and real-time fiat conversions, enabling businesses to transact in cryptocurrencies without holding or converting digital assets.

Luxury hospitality company Soneva was the first business to utilize these services, allowing it to accept Bitcoin and Ethereum across its resort locations.

Global adoption of cryptocurrency payments

Seen as the ‘currency of the future’, cryptocurrency payments are gaining traction among retailers. According to a June 2022 survey by Deloitte, nearly 75% of retailers plan to accept either cryptocurrency or stablecoin payments within the next two years.

The crypto payment landscape is expanding globally with more players entering the market. Hong Kong-based digital payments solution provider AsiaPay has partnered with TripleA, enabling merchants in the Asia Pacific region to access a large global user base of over 300 million cryptocurrency users.

US-based cryptocurrency trading and custody platform Paxos received a license from Singapore’s Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in March 2022, marking an expansion into the crypto market for the firm, which has been operating in the country since 2012.
