The WE BUILD Consortium was officially unveiled at the General Assembly in Amsterdam, with a goal to guide the future development of the European Digital Identity Wallet.
More than 180 organizations from 26 countries have come together under this initiative, coordinated by Kamer van Koophandel (KVK), Ministry of Economic Affairs (MinEZ), and Bolagsverket.
The consortium focuses on creating a unified digital identity ecosystem that integrates public entities, private sector companies, educational institutions, and tech providers to address 13 key use cases related to business operations, supply chain management, and financial transactions.
Details of the WE BUILD Consortium at the General Assembly in Amsterdam
The WE BUILD Consortium brings together a diverse group of stakeholders dedicated to designing, deploying, and testing a secure digital identity system compliant with the European Digital Identity Wallet framework.
The consortium’s structure is built to facilitate cross-industry and cross-border cooperation while ensuring both technical infrastructure and policy alignment are addressed comprehensively and inclusively.
Over the next two years, these organizations will concentrate on implementing several critical use cases including cross-border business registration, tax reporting, company signatories, driver verification, truck and transport firm checks, secure buyer-supplier verification to combat invoice fraud, AML compliance for onboarding, online banking access, and corporate finance.
This focus aims to transform the EU Digital Identity Wallet into a reliable solution for both citizens and businesses.
