Orange Money Group has partnered with Visa to accelerate online payments across Africa and the Middle East.
Deployment in Key Markets
The collaboration between Orange Money Côte d’Ivoire and Visa marks a significant step following successful deployments in Botswana, Madagascar, and Jordan. The virtual Visa card is now available on the Max it app.
This initiative highlights Orange Money’s dedication to creating an inclusive and accessible payment ecosystem. By integrating with Visa, Orange Money aims to support financial inclusion and enhance digital service access for its users.
Expanding Reach
The partnership between Visa and Orange Money is set to grow further by introducing the virtual card in additional markets such as Guinea, Burkina Faso, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. A physical card will also be made available at authorised points of sale, providing more options for users.
Thierry Millet, CEO of Orange Money Group, emphasised that this move is a critical step towards making Orange Money a widely accepted payment method, present both in major online platforms and local merchants. Ismahill Diaby, Vice-President and General Manager of Visa in Western and Central Francophone & Lusophone Africa, noted that the combination of Visa’s technology with Orange Money’s local presence will offer a secure and user-friendly online payment solution for individuals and small businesses.
