Solflare has partnered with Snowdrop Solutions to introduce transaction enrichment into its self-custody debit card program.
This collaboration is intended to enhance the transparency and clarity of spending activity for cardholders, aligning the transaction experience with neobanking norms.
The Solflare Card enables users to make payments directly in USDC without needing to preload or convert digital assets beforehand. The card connects directly to users’ Solflare Wallets, facilitating real-time debit transactions while maintaining full control over their assets.
Transforming transaction data into clear insights
Central to the integration is Snowdrop Solutions’ API, which converts raw terminal codes found in card statements into structured merchant information. This enrichment layer provides recognizable merchant names, official logos, and detailed spending categories, replacing vague identifiers that may otherwise diminish user confidence.
The technology leverages Google Cloud infrastructure, and the partnership was facilitated via the Google Cloud Marketplace, which helped streamline procurement and reduced time-to-market for the integration.
Transaction enrichment is becoming a standard feature in neobanking applications, where clear and organized transaction histories are expected. As crypto-native platforms extend their services into everyday payments, closing the gap between digital asset functionality and traditional banking user interfaces is crucial for retaining users and fostering trust.
Crypto wallets advancing financial services
The Solflare Card program reflects a broader trend in which crypto wallet providers are incorporating payment and banking features to expand their utility beyond just asset storage and trading. Providing a polished transaction interface is one aspect of this shift, especially as platforms vie for users accustomed to the experiences offered by established digital banks.
Snowdrop Solutions markets its enrichment API as infrastructure designed for financial service providers needing scalable structured merchant data. The route through the Google Cloud Marketplace exemplifies a procurement model increasingly utilized by fintech and crypto firms to access third-party services with predefined terms and integrated billing.
Details regarding future rollout or geographic expansion plans for the Solflare Card were not disclosed in the announcement.
