1Kosmos has entered into a strategic partnership with Reality Defender to integrate real-time deepfake detection technology into its platform.
Combating AI-Generated Impersonations
The integration is currently available and aims to address traditional presentation attack detection (PAD) and AI-generated visual impersonation. This collaboration seeks to protect revenue and customer accounts while reducing fraud-related operational complexities.
Recent data indicates that suspected deepfake-related fraud has increased by about 700% year-over-year, particularly affecting financial services, telecommunications, government services, and online marketplaces. Additionally, 20% of all biometric fraud attempts involve deepfakes, driven by the widespread availability of generative AI tools.
Enhancing Existing PAD Capabilities
By incorporating Reality Defender’s technology, 1Kosmos plans to enhance its existing PAD capabilities. The solution is designed to provide:
- Optimised fraud defence by scaling ISO/IEC 30107-3 PAD Level 2 performance for live and pre-recorded AI-generated content.
- Advanced detection models that can predict emerging deepfake techniques and comply with evolving regulations, such as the EU AI Act and upcoming ISO 25456 standards, without requiring custom development.
- Natively integrated workflows within 1Kosmos’ existing identity stacks and user experiences to simplify deployment.
- Greater accuracy in detection, reducing manual reviews and investigations while strengthening privacy and regulatory compliance across environments.
As of the announcement, customers from retail and telecommunications sectors are already using this integrated solution without needing extensive configuration.
