PayPal has introduced Xoom, a rapid and secure international money transfer service in Australia. This solution facilitates the sending of funds to 150+ countries using over 100 currencies.
Australia-based users can choose to send transfers directly to bank accounts, mobile wallets, or opt for cash pickup or home delivery services. Xoom is widely used globally and supports 95% of Australia’s major remittance receiver markets, such as India, China, the Philippines, Vietnam, and the UK.
PayPal’s cross-border solution
Australia boasts over 9.5 million active PayPal accounts, nearly half of its adult population. Xoom will be immediately available to these users upon launch. Verifying a PayPal account allows for seamless registration with Xoom using existing credentials.
To use Xoom, Australians can opt for the Xoom app, visit Xoom.com or use it within the PayPal app, where they can create an account using their PayPal details or set up a new one if needed. Payment methods include bank accounts, debit or credit cards, as well as any funding options available in the user’s existing PayPal wallet.
In supported countries, users can transfer amounts up to AUD 50,000 per transaction for bank account transfers, cash pickups, or home delivery services. Real-time tracking is also provided, enabling users to monitor their transactions promptly.
This launch underscores PayPal’s dedication to fostering global financial connections by making it easier and safer for Australians to manage their funds across borders. With competitive exchange rates, secure infrastructure, and real-time tracking, Xoom aims to provide greater convenience in international money transfers.
In an increasingly connected world, PayPal seeks to assist individuals in supporting loved ones, paying for overseas services, or transferring money during times of need. Xoom offers a faster, safer, and more flexible way to send or receive money globally.
