DNB and Two have entered into a strategic alliance to introduce a BNPL solution for businesses in the Nordics.
This partnership leverages DNB’s banking infrastructure and distribution network alongside Two’s AI-driven credit evaluation technology, addressing the persistent reliance on manual B2B payment processes.
The initiative will be rolled out across webshops, marketplaces, and digital sales platforms. Upon launch, the solution will feature real-time AI-based credit scoring, adaptable payment terms ranging from net 30 to 90 days, and instant settlement for sellers. The joint absorption of credit risk by both companies is expected to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Filling a largely un-digitalized niche
While the B2B payment landscape has seen significant digital transformations in consumer finance, it remains predominantly manual. In 2025, total B2B payment volumes reached USD 186 trillion and are projected to exceed USD 224 trillion by 2030, according to industry figures cited by the partners.
Global B2B e-commerce was valued at USD 19.34 trillion in 2024 and is forecasted to surpass USD 47.54 trillion by 2030. Despite this scale, up to 80% of small and medium-sized business invoices continue to be processed manually.
For DNB, partnering with Two provides a pathway to introduce cutting-edge B2B payment solutions without the associated technological risks typically involved in proprietary development.
The partnership is characterized by its international ambitions. The companies view the Nordic market as a model for advanced B2B payment infrastructure, with plans for broader global adoption beyond the initial regional deployment.
A representative from Two underscored the urgent need to modernize the backbone of global B2B commerce, noting that the DNB partnership is crucial in establishing new standards in business trade. A DNB spokesperson highlighted that the B2B payment sector is ripe for fundamental changes and considered Two’s technology as well-suited to spearhead these advancements.
