Noda, an Open Banking platform, has significantly broadened its network to include more than 2,000 banks across 28 European countries. This expansion allows merchants to connect with over 100 million account holders, covering over 30,000 bank branches in regions like the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, France, and the Baltics.

Nova has introduced a range of payment options such as QR codes, hosted links, and instant bank transfers for both online and in-store transactions. The QR code solution was rolled out recently and is being utilized by small businesses including barbershops, food outlets, and educational institutions in cities like Glasgow and London.

Increasing Merchant Adoption

Noda representatives stated that the platform’s primary goal is to facilitate secure direct account-to-account payments, thereby decreasing reliance on traditional card networks. The company claims this service helps merchants control transaction costs while providing customers with an alternative payment method.

Merchants who have adopted Noda noted a rapid customer acceptance of the QR payment option. A shop owner in Glasgow reported that customers found it easy to use and appreciated the low setup requirements. In London, usage surged within the first week after implementation, according to another merchant. Meanwhile, a learning centre observed reduced stress related to handling payments.

Beyond small retailers, Noda’s influence can be seen across various sectors such as e-commerce, mobility services, health and wellness, gaming, and other on-the-go services including salons and food trucks. The company has set its sights on enhancing its presence in retail and service industries by 2026, with a special focus on micro-merchants and physical commerce.
