New Fingerprint Sensor from Next Biometrics
Next Biometrics has introduced a new fingerprint sensor called the NEXT Granite Sensor, which complements their existing Basalt FAP 20 series. As a FAP 30 solution, this new sensor features a 67% larger sensing area, enhancing accuracy and security for various critical applications.
This expanded surface area, coupled with Active Thermal technology, ensures robust authentication and identification at scale. The Active Thermal feature incorporates both finger heat and 3D imaging to verify user identity more effectively. Additionally, the sensor’s reduced thickness improves image resolution and energy efficiency while maintaining device portability in diverse environmental conditions.
Key Features of the New Sensor
- Anti-spoofing and fake finger detection
- Anti-latent rejection
- ISO/IEC 19794-2 template format
- Complete 360-degree rotation tolerance
- One-touch enrolment and verification
Next Biometrics has supplied over 10 million sensors, with its Active Thermal technologies certified by Aadhaar, FBI-PIV, MOIP Compliance, and NIBSS.
