Pakistan Users Can Enjoy Secure Payments at Alipay+ Merchants

NayaPay users will be able to scan and pay at Alipay+ merchants through this partnership. Initially, the payment solution will be available in more than 50 countries, connecting Pakistani consumers with a wide global ecosystem that includes retail, dining, transport, healthcare, and entertainment.

This collaboration simplifies international payments, making them more efficient and cost-effective for Pakistani users. Currently, Alipay+ connects 40 international mobile payment partners to over 150 million merchants worldwide.

NayaPay’s Commitment to Optimal Payment Experiences

The rollout of QR payments underscores NayaPay’s dedication to providing optimal payment experiences for both Pakistani consumers and businesses. This includes global QR acceptance as part of its expanding service portfolio, which also encompasses Visa debit cards, local and international money transfers, bill payments, and home remittances.

This move is the next phase in the collaboration between Alipay+ and NayaPay, following their initial partnership at the beginning of 2024. Back then, NayaPay positioned itself as one of the first Pakistani fintech companies to enable direct QR payments at over 80 million merchants in China.

CEO’s Statement

NayaPay’s CEO, Danish A. Lakhani, expressed that this move further supports their mission to bring more freedom and confidence with money for Pakistanis by simplifying international payments and making them universally accessible.

This is just a few weeks before Ant International joined BENEFIT to introduce cross-border QR payments between Bahrain’s BENEFIT scheme and Alipay+. The partnership aimed to assist the transition towards a more inclusive digital payments ecosystem, with both companies planning to develop cross-border payment solutions between Bahrain and other global regions.
