Momo Rwanda, a financial services company, has partnered with TerraPay, an international cross-border payments provider.
This partnership enables MoMo wallet holders in Rwanda to receive funds from over 200 countries and territories directly into their wallets. The collaboration is described as an enhancement of MoMo Rwanda’s global remittance service through the use of TerraPay’s network.
Enhancing Inbound Remittances
TerraPay’s infrastructure provides a scalable, regulatory-compliant global network that MoMo Rwanda can now utilize to facilitate international transfers for various purposes, such as education, healthcare, family support, or personal expenses. The official press release states this is intended to expand the firm’s global reach and promote financial inclusion in Rwanda.
Momo Rwanda officials highlight that the new service offers a straightforward and secure way for remittances to be received directly through mobile wallets rather than via traditional bank accounts. A MoMo Rwanda representative stated the partnership facilitates connections between families, friends, and business partners abroad who can now provide support more easily. TerraPay representatives emphasized their mission to deliver seamless, secure financial services globally and noted that this collaboration aligns with their commitment to scaling financial inclusion.
This agreement positions MoMo’s wallet platform as a direct receiving channel for global remittances, simplifying cross-border transactions for Rwandan users. It is expected to contribute to digital financial integration in the region.
Previous Partnership
In October 2025, TerraPay partnered with Cobre, a B2B payments platform based in Latin America, to support international transactions. This collaboration allowed businesses to receive and send money easily across borders, ensuring faster settlement times, compliant operations, and lower operational complexity by connecting Cobre’s enterprise payment platform with TerraPay’s global network.
