Mollie, a payment service provider, has recently expanded its operations to Hungary, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic. This move aims to simplify local businesses’ payment processing by offering tailored solutions and local support.
Unified Payment Platform
The expansion allows businesses in these countries to benefit from Mollie’s unified platform, which streamlines payment processing, reporting, and fraud prevention.
Mollie recognizes that many entrepreneurs face challenges with legacy payment tools. To address this, the company provides personalized payment and finance solutions, tailored to meet the specific needs of local businesses. In order to better serve its customers, Mollie is establishing a dedicated local team for direct engagement.
Diverse Payment Solutions
Mollie offers a range of localized payment methods, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank and credit card payments, PayPal, Pay by Bank, and Klarna (coming soon). The company ensures smooth onboarding experiences in Hungarian, Slovenian, and Czech languages.
Additionally, businesses in these markets can benefit from plugins for popular ecommerce platforms such as Shopify, Shopware, PrestaShop, Magento, and WooCommerce. These tools facilitate the acceptance of payments and increase conversion rates.
Mollie’s goal is to expand into more EU markets in the future, having already established a presence across Europe through its customer-centric approach, servicing over 250,000 businesses with payments and money management services.
Introduction of Mollie Tap
In June 2025, Mollie launched Mollie Tap to cater to the needs of small businesses. This payment terminal was designed to offer efficient and user-friendly functions for in-person transactions.
Mollie Tap enabled its customers to accept contactless payments easily, catering to a wide range of industries such as hair salons, cafes, market stalls, taxi companies, and more.
