Conferma and Modulr have entered into a strategic partnership to enhance and optimize travel and hotel payments systems.

Modulr’s Integration within Conferma

Through this collaboration, Modulr integrates as a fully functional issuer on the Conferma platform. This integration allows travel management companies (TMCs), online travel agencies (OTAs), and corporate travel programs to utilize API-driven virtual card solutions across various travel segments.

Focusing on Enhanced Payments for Travel Businesses

Together, Modulr and Conferma aim to address the challenges faced by travel businesses, such as pre-funding cards, managing weekend balances, and manually reconciling supplier payments. The partnership brings together flexible virtual card capabilities with direct issuer connectivity.

Companies can issue both Modulr Visa and Mastercard virtual cards instantly via Conferma’s platform or through its network of global distribution systems (Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport), content aggregators (DerbySoft), and workflow automation platforms (Groundspan).

The real-time virtual card payment infrastructure currently supports travel spending across hotels, airfares, and other program categories within Conferma’s ecosystem. This integration facilitates:

  • Improved control over spend and better cash flow visibility;
  • Reduced operational complexity for finance and operations teams;
  • A simpler experience for both travelers and suppliers;
  • Real-time reconciliation and consolidated reporting.

The partnership is expected to offer the travel sector:

  • To TMCs, an API-driven issuer that seamlessly integrates with existing processes without disruption;
  • To corporates, more options in virtual card issuance to aid cost management and compliance;
  • To suppliers, including hotels, a streamlined payment settlement process and reduced reconciliation efforts;
  • To the industry as a whole, increased issuer diversity supporting modern travel operations.
