Mellow, an international HR platform, has joined forces with Payoneer, a leading cross-border payments provider, to provide contractors with secure and cost-effective payment solutions.

This collaboration enhances Mellow’s dedication to supporting global contractors by leveraging Payoneer’s extensive geographic reach.

The challenges faced by freelancers often include financial losses due to currency conversion fees and high transfer costs associated with traditional payment platforms. Approximately 1.57 billion people worldwide are classified as freelancers, contributing a platform value of USD 3.39 billion. Research indicates that freelancers typically lose between 3-5% of their earnings in exchange fees during currency transactions, which can amount to significant sums annually.

To cater to user demands and provide greater financial flexibility for contractors around the world, Mellow has expanded its offerings by integrating Payoneer. This partnership ensures users receive near-instant transactions, with funds promptly available in their Payoneer wallets.

The integration streamlines the process of linking Payoneer accounts through the platform, aligning with Mellow’s objective to deliver user-friendly financial solutions.

Payoneer’s Strategic Partnerships

In addition to partnering with Mellow, Payoneer has also formed a strategic alliance with Stripe. This collaboration was launched in August 2025 and aimed at improving the online checkout experience for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) globally.

The partnership focused on expanding Payoneer’s Online Checkout functionality within the Asia Pacific region, including China and Hong Kong. The updated features, powered by Stripe’s technology, enabled SMEs to accept a wider range of payment methods via their online webstore checkouts, such as buy now pay later options (BNPL) like Affirm and Klarna, along with digital wallets including Apple Pay and Google Pay.
