Recently, Liverpool FC has announced that PayPal will serve as the club’s official digital payment partner for a new global, multi-year deal.
Strengthening Partnership in the Premier League
This marks PayPal’s first partnership with a Premier League club and is expected to strengthen its position as a provider of payment solutions for football fans worldwide.
Enhancing Fan Engagement Through PayPal+
With over 400 million active accounts across 200 markets, supporting transactions in 25 currencies, PayPal aims to enhance how Liverpool FC fans engage with the club and sporting experiences both online and offline.
Through its free loyalty programme, PayPal+ launched in November 2025, fans can earn reward points by using PayPal for matchday purchases. These rewards are designed to increase fan engagement and add value to their overall experience.
Consumers will be able to unlock different tiers as they accumulate more points, with Gold and Black tier members enjoying benefits such as up to 50% more points at checkout and access to exclusive perks from Liverpool FC.
PayPal plans to integrate its service across Liverpool FC’s digital platforms, making it the preferred method of payment for fans. This will include prominent displays on the club’s ecommerce and All Red platforms to simplify transactions.
Promoting Club Development and Community Growth
According to Geoff Seeley, Chief Marketing Officer at PayPal, this global partnership with Liverpool FC strengthens the company’s connection with sports fans globally. Ben Latty, Chief Commercial Officer at Liverpool FC, sees it as a step forward in the club’s development, ensuring secure engagement with its fan base.
The agreement also includes initiatives to promote the profile of Liverpool FC Women and scale grassroots football programmes via the Liverpool FC Foundation. These efforts aim to nurture future talent and expand football participation across all levels.
