Lufthansa Group, a major European airline group, has joined forces with Klarna to introduce flexible payment options for travelers at the point of booking. This collaboration leverages Klarna’s integration with Adyen, allowing customers to choose between paying in full, paying later, or spreading their payments over time when using Lufthansa Group services.

Expanding Payment Flexibility

The initiative launched earlier this month, initially covering key markets of the Lufthansa Group. By the end of Q2 2026, the service will be rolled out to all airlines within the group’s network, including Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, SWISS, and Brussels Airlines.

This move aligns with a growing trend among travelers for more adaptable financial options during their booking processes. Klarna has previously partnered with travel giants like Airbnb, Expedia, Booking.com, and Hotels.com, emphasizing the importance of providing customers with greater control over their expenditures.

Customer-Centric Approach

Lufthansa Group is focused on ensuring that customer needs are met through this partnership. By integrating Klarna’s payment solutions into its booking process via Adyen, Lufthansa aims to enhance the overall travel experience for customers in countries such as Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United States.

The introduction of these flexible payment options is expected to offer travelers greater choice and flexibility when planning their trips.
