Finix has introduced the Finix Checkout iOS application and a Bluetooth-compatible mobile card reader, expanding its payment solutions for in-person transactions.

As a comprehensive payment processor based in the United States, Finix offers businesses the means to handle both online and offline payments. The newly launched iOS app and accompanying hardware introduce mobility into this service, enabling merchants to facilitate payments at events, on-site visits, or within store settings without needing fixed point-of-sale equipment.

Unified mobile payment experience

The card reader links with the application through Bluetooth, facilitating transactions that do not require wired devices. Payment information is channeled directly into Finix’s dashboard, offering merchants a centralized location to oversee reporting, reconciliation, customer data management, and overall financial operations in addition to their existing online payment activities. This integration highlights the app’s role as an extension of Finix’s comprehensive platform rather than a standalone solution.

The Finix Checkout App, now accessible via Apple’s App Store, supports both on-site and online transaction processing, including real-time authorizations and refunds. Users can establish customer profiles within the application, review payment histories, and send electronic receipts by email or text message post-transaction. This system is intended to eliminate paper receipts and minimize dependence on separate systems.

Integrated omnichannel framework for diverse business needs

This launch caters to a broader trend in commerce where entities now operate across physical and digital environments, necessitating payment solutions that can adapt to these varied contexts. For both software firms and independent businesses, maintaining a unified operational view across offline and online transactions streamlines administration and simplifies reconciliation processes.

Finix’s end-to-end payment processing model allows merchants to retain control over their payment activities rather than relying on third-party intermediaries. Consequently, data from the new mobile platform remains within Finix’s infrastructure alongside other transactional information. This approach is particularly significant for platforms that integrate payments into their own offerings, a market segment that Finix has historically focused on.

The new app and card reader enhance Finix’s capabilities in handling present-card transactions, aligning with the existing card-not-present functionalities offered through its platform.
