Flywire has announced its intention to introduce stablecoin acceptance later this year, as part of a pilot program in collaboration with BVNK.

Expanding Payment Options

BVNK is an entity that offers infrastructure for digital asset payments. As such, this initiative will enable Flywire’s clients to accept USDC and USDT as payment methods, addressing the increasing demand for stablecoins in regions experiencing currency volatility and inflation.

This integration will be seamlessly incorporated into Flywire’s existing global payment network, which currently handles transactions through a variety of means including bank transfers, credit cards, digital wallets, and other alternative options.

Improving Access to Payments in High-Inflation Markets

Flywire officials highlighted that the pilot program is designed to expand access to payment choices in regions where traditional currencies may be unstable. The integration aims to maintain the company’s existing support framework, ensuring consistency in reconciliation, user interface, regulatory compliance, and backend services.

A Flywire representative noted that this move aligns with the company’s efforts to stay adaptable in a rapidly evolving payments landscape.

Flywire’s Other Initiatives

Flywire, listed on Nasdaq under the ticker FLYW, offers payment solutions across various sectors including education, healthcare, travel, and B2B. The company serves over 4,600 clients in more than 240 countries and territories, with headquarters in Boston.

In July 2025, Flywire partnered with Korea-based education technology provider UBION to enhance the payment process for international students studying in the country. Through this collaboration, Flywire’s cross-border payment platform was integrated into UBION’s existing educational services, allowing parents of international students to make payments in their local currencies via a platform that supports over 140 currencies and multiple payment options.
