Launched in partnership with Mastercard, the new BMO Escape Credit Card is tailored for travel enthusiasts aiming to accumulate points through various daily expenses.
BMO Escape Card Benefits and Features
BMO has integrated several travel benefits into the card, such as annual hotel statement credits worth up to USD 240, Priority Pass airport lounge access, and fee rebates on Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS services. There are no foreign transaction fees, which is advantageous for international travelers.
Additionally, BMO has structured the card with accelerated points earning opportunities in key travel categories:
- Dining and airfare: 4x points per US dollar spent up to a maximum of USD 3,000 quarterly.
- Hotels, cruise lines, tours, and travel agencies: 3x points per dollar spent up to a maximum of USD 3,000 quarterly.
- Car rentals, taxi, and rideshare services: 2x points per dollar spent up to a maximum of USD 3,000 quarterly.
- All other eligible purchases: 1x point per dollar spent.
BMO and Mastercard Partnership Update
In July 2025, BMO and Mastercard announced an expansion of the Global Money Transfer service for BMO’s Canadian personal banking clients. This upgrade leverages Mastercard Move’s global money movement capabilities to include additional destinations and currencies, enabling connections with family and friends in 70 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
This collaboration aims to support secure and cost-effective international payment solutions, catering to the growing demand for such services among Canadians.
