BBVA Germany is set to enhance its digital services with the introduction of a ‘Cash-in via App’ feature, collaborating with Paysafe.

Simplifying Cash Deposits and Withdrawals

Under this new initiative, customers can now deposit cash directly into their BBVA accounts at participating retail checkouts, without the need for a bank visit. This integration of PaysafeCash enables secure transactions through a barcode scanned at the checkout.

BBVA currently offers around 50,000 ATMs with Mastercard logos for cash withdrawals. With this feature, they are also expanding their cash availability through ‘Cash-in via App’ and ‘Cash-out in Retail Stores’, both provided by Paysafe. These options integrate seamlessly into the bank’s digital banking experience.

Free Deposits During Introductory Period

The new service is currently accessible to all BBVA private customers in Germany, with free deposits available from 20 October 2025 to 31 January 2026. Starting from 1 February 2026, a fee of 1.4% of the deposited amount will apply.

Using the New Feature

To utilize this service, customers select the desired deposit amount in the BBVA App and generate a barcode. This code can be scanned at participating supermarkets and retail partners like REWE, Penny, dm, Rossmann, among others, for instant crediting to their BBVA accounts. No minimum purchase is required for deposits.
