Google Play now includes K PLUS from KASIKORNBANK, integrated through Ant International’s Antom platform, as a new local payment method. This marks the first time a Southeast Asian (SEA) mobile banking app is available on Google Play for payment purposes.

K PLUS, widely used in the region, now allows its users to pay for both global and local digital content on Google Play. The launch further emphasizes Antom’s expertise in digital wallets by adding recurring payment capabilities to support global enterprise merchants.

Purchasing through K PLUS on Google Play

The partnership between Antom and Google Play began when Google expanded its payment options in the APAC region. The addition of K PLUS strengthens their alliance, driving growth in transaction volume and user acquisitions beyond just payments. Antom also supports Google Play’s digital campaigns via A+ Rewards, an in-app marketing platform that leverages privacy-preserving computing and AI technology.

Google Play is committed to enhancing the user experience in Thailand by supporting the growth of the digital ecosystem for developers. With this rollout, users can now purchase apps, games, and entertainment more easily, safely, and quickly via convenient transactions through K PLUS.

KASIKORNBANK aims to optimize its digital payment infrastructure, offering customers a seamless, secure financial experience. The collaboration with Antom and Google Play not only expands choices for shoppers in Thailand but also positions the bank as one of the first to partner with Google Play.

The APAC region is expected to account for two-thirds of global digital wallet spend by 2024, according to Deloitte. Antom capitalizes on this growth, believing that payment localisation enhances convenience and builds necessary infrastructure for digital inclusion. With AI-driven solutions, the company aims to simplify and secure digital payments while aiding merchants in growing their businesses.
