Fintech infrastructure provider Prometeo has introduced its Agentic Banking solution, enabling large language models (LLMs) and other AI agents to perform financial operations autonomously.

Layered Infrastructure for Financial Services

Prometeo’s Agentic Banking acts as an infrastructure layer aimed at making financial services accessible and operational for AI. The launch places Prometeo among the pioneering providers in Latin America and the United States, offering a platform that supports AI execution of tasks such as payments, account verification, and treasury operations, all with full traceability and compliance.

The solution relies on three layers: an API network, an intelligent access protocol, and conversational interfaces. These components ensure safe and secure interactions for every AI interaction.

  • Model Context Protocol (MCP) ensures compliant interactions between AI models and financial data.
  • The Agentic Interface System connects agents to users via various channels like WhatsApp, web portals, or enterprise systems, supporting conversational finance and organizational-grade automation.

Use Cases for Agentic Banking

Prometeo highlights several real-world applications of Agentic Banking in regions such as Peru, Mexico, and Brazil. These include:

  • Conversational Payments: enabling secure transactions through platforms like WhatsApp or chat without the need for a traditional app.
  • Instant Account Validation: authorizing account ownership before disbursing funds or accepting transfers.
  • Autonomous Treasury Bots: allowing agents to manage balances, enhance cash flows, and conduct real-time multi-party payments.

Prometeo currently offers the solution in Mexico, Peru, and Brazil, with plans to expand into Argentina, Colombia, and the United States soon. Access models include integration through APIs for developers and a No-Code Portal for businesses looking to leverage agent features like account validation, payment disbursement, and operational management.
