Adyen has introduced Personalize, a component of its Adyen Uplift payment optimization suite designed to tailor checkout experiences according to individual shopper behavior.
This feature employs dynamic recognition to identify returning customers and modify the display of payment methods, security measures, and checkout processes in real time.
Built upon Adyen Uplift, which was launched in January 2025 as per company data, Personalize has reportedly enabled businesses to cut payment expenses by an average of 9.4% on eligible traffic and lowered false positive transaction blocks by 42%. Over 6,500 merchants utilizing Adyen Uplift saw an increase in their average conversion rate by 1.19% compared to industry standards, with some achieving up to a 6% improvement.
Dynamic identification mitigates checkout obstacles
Personalize incorporates an identification system into the transaction flow, recognizing repeat customers and customizing payment choices prior to their initiating purchases. The software examines historical data to forecast favored payment modes and restock options accordingly.
Adyen studies reveal that 37% of consumers desert cart items when faced with long checkout procedures. Furthermore, 72% of companies note that transaction fees squeeze profitability.
Initial feedback suggests businesses can enhance conversion rates by up to 6% and minimize processing expenses by about 3% through the application of Personalize.
This service integrates within Adyen Uplift’s comprehensive optimization ecosystem, encompassing intelligent payment routing and risk management settings. Users can configure checkout components, run A/B tests, and gain performance insights via the platform interface.
The selection of payment methods impacts both conversion rates and processing costs. Card networks, digital wallets, bank transfers, and buy-now-pay-later options come with distinct fee structures and authorization rates. Businesses stand to benefit by directing customers towards payment types that offer optimal cost-to-conversion ratios.
