Anchorage Digital, the operator of the United States’ first federally chartered digital asset bank, has recently introduced Agentic Banking. This innovative platform aims to facilitate secure and compliant interactions between AI agents and financial capital.
Simultaneously, Anchorage Digital has entered into a strategic partnership with Google Cloud, combining the latter’s advanced artificial intelligence and multi-party computation key management systems with the former’s regulatory financial frameworks.
Regulated Framework for AI Agents
Agentic Banking offers a regulated platform for trust, governance, and settlement, enabling enterprises to fund and oversee AI agents working on their behalf. Prior to executing any transaction, the system enforces corporate spending policies, Know Your Agent (KYA) standards, and real-time compliance controls. All operations are auditable.
Cloud-based Digital Asset Infrastructure
The collaboration with Google Cloud focuses on advanced crypto key management and transaction infrastructure provided through cloud services, supporting both traditional institutional digital asset use cases and agentic commerce. The partnership aims to create a unified B2B2C stack that includes secure wallets, governance of balances and transactions, trading, staking, and operational workflows, which can integrate directly into financial products for end-user accessibility.
Moreover, the platform supports multiple blockchain networks such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL) alongside stablecoins. It is designed to accommodate future agentic workflow needs while integrating with existing financial systems. The goal is to simplify the deployment and scaling of institutional digital asset infrastructure, aligning it more closely with modern financial standards.
On this matter, Nathan McCauley, Co-Founder and CEO of Anchorage Digital, commented that AI agents require regulated access to capital alongside intelligence. Agentic Banking is positioned as the bridge between autonomous systems and traditional financial rails, ensuring trust, governance, and compliance. Rich Widmann, Head of Strategy for Web3 at Google Cloud, emphasized that the partnership combines regulated digital asset capabilities with scalable cloud infrastructure to drive the next phase of institutional adoption.
