Splitit, a U.S.-based card-linked instalment payments provider, has unveiled Splitit Go, a mobile solution enabling in-person sales environments to offer flexible instalment payment options.
Targeting sectors such as home services, healthcare, automotive, specialty retail, and professional services—areas where high-value purchases are often made face-to-face rather than online—Splitit Go aims to enhance the buying experience for consumers looking to spread payments over time without incurring additional costs or complexity.
With Splitit Go, merchants can generate instalment offers through their smartphones, tablets, or laptops. Customers receive a payment plan via QR code, text message, or email, review the terms on their own devices, and complete purchases using existing credit card limits. This streamlined process avoids the need for new applications, additional underwriting steps, or redirection to third-party platforms, setting it apart from traditional buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) offerings.
Infrastructure and market scope
Beyond the mobile application, Splitit Go acts as a headless instalment infrastructure. A single API integration allows merchants to embed card-linked instalment functionality directly into payment pages, CRM systems, field service platforms, project management tools, or existing payment stacks without disrupting their current workflows.
This innovative solution addresses a significant gap in the U.S. payments landscape where instalment options are common in e-commerce but largely missing from the in-person services economy. The company highlights that over USD 4.6 trillion in annual US services spending across these verticals could benefit from this flexible payment approach.
In adopting Splitit Go, customers continue to enjoy their existing card rewards and banking relationships since instalment plans are based on the credit limits of preferred cards rather than new products.
Collin Flotta, Head of Product at Splitit, emphasizes that Splitit Go empowers merchants to offer flexible payment options instantly, ensuring sales conversations can easily transition into purchase decisions.
