Fingerprint, an American device intelligence platform aimed at preventing fraud, has introduced the Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server. This is presented as the first open-source MCP implementation in the field of fraud prevention.
This server allows organizations to link their AI assistants, chatbots, or agents directly with Fingerprint’s device intelligence platform. Fraud analysts can investigate anomalies and query data using natural language prompts without needing to write code.
Through APIs connecting to the company’s production data, the MCP Server delivers real-time insights from device intelligence events. Fraud teams can inquire about linked login attempts or suspicious session patterns by having the AI assistant interact with Fingerprint via the server. According to Fingerprint, this cuts investigation cycles from hours to seconds.
Open standard and deployment options
Fingerprint supports an open Model Context Protocol standard instead of a proprietary integration layer, allowing organizations flexibility in choosing their preferred AI tools, including custom agents or commercial assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT. The server will be accessible both as open-source software and managed services, supporting integrations with third-party tools and systems.
In addition to read-only data access, the MCP Server connects AI agents with Fingerprint’s Management API for configuring and managing fraud prevention workflows. Developers can leverage this server for building AI-powered fraud investigation tools, automated incident monitoring, and fraud-aware applications using coding environments like Claude Code or Cursor.
Following the launch of Fingerprint’s Authorised AI Agent Detection ecosystem, MCP Server forms part of a larger agentic AI roadmap. Further features are scheduled for 2026. Currently, the server is available on an invitation basis to select enterprise organizations only. Model Context Protocol downloads rose from 100,000 in November 2024 to over eight million by April 2025, highlighting the standard’s rapid industry adoption.
Valentin Vasilyev, Co-founder and CTO at Fingerprint, commented that the MCP Server provides fraud teams with the flexibility to use their preferred AI tools.
