YouHodler and Volt have launched a partnership that allows real-time account top-ups and payouts for EU users.

Customers of YouHodler can now complete real-time account top-ups and initiate real-time payouts directly through the platform. The checkout experience is available in English, French, German, and Italian, reflecting the multi-market presence of the platform across Europe.

Virtual IBANs and reconciliation capabilities

In addition to enhancing payment speed, YouHodler leverages Volt’s cash management tooling, including Virtual IBANs (vIBANs), to simplify back-office reconciliation. By mapping individual deposits to specific users, vIBAN structures reduce manual matching efforts and support operational scalability as transaction volumes increase.

Volt’s platform is described as rail-agnostic, designed to route payments across various real-time networks without requiring platforms to manage infrastructure directly. This approach addresses a key challenge for crypto-adjacent fintechs like YouHodler by serving users who operate across different time zones and expect near-instant fund availability.

Regulatory context: EU Instant Payments Regulation

This partnership coincides with a critical period for European payments infrastructure. The EU’s Instant Payments Regulation, which requires SEPA Instant adoption by payment service providers, is driving the shift towards real-time person-to-person (P2P) and business-to-business (B2B) payments as standard expectations rather than luxury features. As Open Banking transitions from regulatory pilots to core payments infrastructure, platforms operating in the EU are under increasing pressure to offer payment experiences that align with these standards.

For crypto and Web3 platforms especially, the alignment between real-time payment rails and user expectations has become a practical necessity. Users accustomed to around-the-clock crypto market activity expect fund movements to mirror this speed, an area where traditional bank transfers have historically struggled.

A YouHodler official mentioned that the ability to quickly capitalize on market opportunities drives demand for instant money movement, and that localized checkout experiences and reconciliation tooling are essential for scaling operations across the EU.

The partnership is currently live across the EU.
