In April 2026, eBay UK and Liberis will introduce Flexible Growth Financing, a flexible working capital solution tailored for business sellers in the United Kingdom.

This funding product offers eligible sellers the flexibility to access pre-set credit limits that can be utilized either fully or incrementally, based on their operational requirements at any moment. Repayment terms are linked to sales performance, with loan approval typically taking 24 hours from application submission.

Responding to Credit Access Challenges for UK SMEs

According to the official press release, the partnership aims to address the documented credit access difficulties faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK. Approximately 52% of these businesses report limited access to affordable financing, citing obstacles such as lengthy application procedures, concerns about being rejected, and high interest rates as contributing factors.

These hurdles are said to contribute to a wider funding gap that hinders growth across the SME sector. Flexible Growth Financing intends to mitigate these issues by leveraging performance data to set credit limits and tailor repayment schedules directly in line with sales volumes.

Building on US Success

The UK implementation of this product is based on a successful model already deployed in the United States, eBay Seller Capital. In the U.S., the programme has supported thousands of small businesses. A Liberis official noted that 90% of their customers reported positive operational impacts from accessing working capital through this initiative.

The expansion to the UK continues the same approach by integrating financing directly into the marketplace platform, thus eliminating the need for sellers to obtain external credit from traditional lenders. This strategy positions eBay and Liberis as part of the broader trend towards embedded finance, where non-financial platforms integrate financial products to enhance seller engagement and streamline access to capital.

Eligible eBay UK business sellers can start availing Flexible Growth Financing through the Seller Capital programme on April 6, 2026. Common uses for this funding include inventory replenishment, product listing enhancement, and marketing campaigns.
