Chainlink has introduced its data standards across the Canton blockchain network, with plans for CCIP integration to support cross-chain asset transfers.
Following this development, Chainlink’s data protocols are now available on the Canton ecosystem. Future enhancements include the implementation of the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to facilitate the transfer of tokenized real-world assets between different blockchain platforms.
Building upon an existing collaboration, several key Chainlink services—such as Data Streams, SmartData NAV and AUM feeds, and Proof of Reserve—are now operational within the Canton network. This deployment enhances oracle and data infrastructure for regulatory-grade real-world asset (RWA) workflows on Canton, including support for recently launched 24/5 Equities Streams. These streams provide real-time access to U.S. equities market data, valued at around USD 80 trillion.
Widespread Adoption Already in Motion
Canton’s ecosystem partners are currently utilizing the Chainlink data standard for production purposes. Applications like CBTC by BitSafe and Unhedged, along with entities such as Thetanuts Finance and Kairo by AngelHack and Temple, integrate Canton’s privacy features with Chainlink’s data services to support various use cases including on-chain collateral, decentralized options, and privacy-preserving prediction markets.
With the presence of Chainlink Data Streams, SmartData, and Proof of Reserve in Canton, institutions within the network gain access to real-time pricing, asset valuation, collateral verification, and asset-backing assurances. These functionalities are crucial for lending, margining, settlement, and risk management activities within regulated environments.
Once CCIP is operational, it is expected to further these capabilities by enabling secure cross-chain transfers of tokenized assets, a feature that becomes increasingly vital as institutional players seek interoperability between private and public blockchain ecosystems.
This deployment underscores the broader trend in institutional blockchain adoption, where verified data feeds and compliance-compatible infrastructure are essential prerequisites for committing assets or workflows to on-chain environments. Canton’s architecture, which combines privacy with public blockchain properties, positions it as a network tailored towards this segment of the market.
