Bankfeed and Salt Edge have collaborated to facilitate seamless financial data integration for businesses across the European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom (UK), via a unified API within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Bankfeed, an add-on for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central developed by Softera, based in Lithuania, is tailored for accounting and finance teams handling large volumes of financial transactions. By integrating with Salt Edge’s Data Aggregation and Enrichment services, Bankfeed now connects to transaction data from over 2,700 banks across Europe and the UK, offering real-time access to account balances and enriched financial insights.
Features and Operational Advantages
The partnership tackles common challenges in managing multi-bank finances, such as fragmented data, manual reconciliation processes, and limited visibility into available funds. The integration streamlines the process by automating bank statement imports, payment recognition, and invoice reconciliation directly within Dynamics 365 Business Central. This automated approach significantly reduces the workload for finance teams and minimizes the risk of payment errors or delays.
Real-time access to account data through Salt Edge’s aggregation layer allows businesses to proactively identify potential payment issues, enhancing cash flow management. Future plans include integrating Salt Edge’s Pay by Bank feature into the solution, enabling customers to make secure bulk payments directly within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
According to Povilas Safranauskas, Partner Manager at Bankfeed, this partnership aims to expand bank coverage and improve connection stability, paving the way for advanced payment functionalities. Virgiliu Bodrug, Pay by Bank Expert at Salt Edge, emphasizes how the combination of Open Banking with AI-powered automation within an enterprise resource planning (ERP) environment can help finance teams reduce the time spent on repetitive tasks.
Industry Context
For small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in multiple EU markets, managing banking relationships through individual interfaces remains a significant source of operational challenges. Open Banking infrastructure, facilitated through ERP-native integrations like this one, is increasingly seen as a viable solution for finance teams seeking real-time financial visibility without the complexity of custom connectivity arrangements.
