TRM Labs secured a USD 70 million Series C funding round to broaden its artificial intelligence (AI) solutions aimed at tackling financial crime and national security threats.
On February 4, 2026, this US-based blockchain intelligence provider announced the financing. Blockchain Capital led the investment, with contributions from previous investors CMT Digital, Goldman Sachs, Bessemer Venture Partners, DRW Venture Capital, Y Combinator, Thoma Bravo, Alumni Ventures, Citi Ventures, Brevan Howard Digital, and a new investor, Galaxy Ventures.
TRM Labs specializes in creating blockchain analytics and investigative tools for law enforcement and financial institutions. The Series C round boosted the company’s valuation to USD 1 billion.
Wider Reach Across Public and Private Sectors
TRM Labs caters to more than 50 countries through its law enforcement and national security agencies, as well as private sector entities like Circle, Coinbase, Cross River Bank, PayPal, Robinhood, Stripe, and Visa. The platform examines blockchain transactions to uncover patterns linked to ransomware activities, terrorist financing, transnational criminal networks, and fraudulent schemes.
The firm’s technology combats blockchain-based financial crime, which often uses automated money laundering methods and AI-driven social engineering techniques. Criminals leverage blockchain networks for various operations, including payment processing and asset transfers.
AI-Driven Investment Priorities
The fresh funding will facilitate expansion in three key areas: hiring AI researchers, data scientists, engineers, and financial crime specialists; developing AI-enabled compliance solutions for managing financial crime risks and processing alerts; and enhancing investigative capabilities that integrate on-chain blockchain activities with off-chain intelligence sources.
TRM Labs is expanding its workforce across applied AI, machine learning, engineering, data science, commercial functions, and operations. This hiring surge follows the funding round to support anticipated technology development plans.
Global Blockchain Intelligence Network
Blockchain intelligence platforms handle transactional data from diverse blockchain networks, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, alongside other alternative protocols. The systems pinpoint wallet addresses, track fund movements, and signal transactions that match risk indicators linked to sanctioned entities, darknet marketplaces, or known criminal operations.
TRM Labs’ valuation of USD 1 billion positions the company among the blockchain infrastructure providers achieving unicorn status. This sector has garnered considerable venture capital investment, especially since heightened regulatory scrutiny on cryptocurrency-related financial crime and expanded institutional use of blockchain-based payment systems.
