YouTrip has introduced an eSIM service to provide mobile data connectivity in over 140 countries.
With this new feature, embedded within its multi-currency digital wallet app, YouTrip aims to offer users the convenience of purchasing and managing global roaming data. The starting price for the eSIM plan is SGD 1.
Users can access the eSIM functionality via a ‘Travel’ tab on the application. This feature allows them to buy, activate, and monitor their usage of roaming data in real time. YouTrip also promises upfront pricing information and live tracking updates to help users manage costs during their travels.
Early Access and Market Insights
The eSIM service was first rolled out as part of a beta test in November 2025, coinciding with the year-end travel rush. Usage statistics during this period highlighted that Singaporean travelers frequently used services for destinations such as China, Japan, and Malaysia. A notable trend observed was that one in six eSIM purchases destined for Malaysia were employed for short trips to Johor Bahru.
The increased demand for data packages in the Asia Pacific region and Europe suggests a growing need for seamless international connectivity among YouTrip’s user base. These findings will shape how the company expands its travel-focused offerings, including instant discounts and cashback through YouTrip Perks, as well as travel insurance with 15% cashback.
In support of the launch, YouTrip is offering a promotional deal where first-time eSIM buyers will receive 50% cashback on their purchases between January 28 and February 10, 2026. The offer is limited to SGD 5 for the first 2,500 customers who qualify.
As YouTrip continues to integrate these services into its broader platform, it aligns with industry trends towards incorporating travel connectivity alongside payment and foreign exchange features. The company will remain focused on customer needs while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
