The real-time, rail-agnostic money movement platform Volt has entered into a strategic partnership with ClearBank to enhance merchant account services in the UK and Europe.
This collaboration allows Volt to improve its account-based cash management solutions for businesses across these regions, driving Open Banking payments towards their full operational potential.
Tailoring Payment Solutions for Large Enterprises
Thanks to this partnership, Volt now offers EUR and GBP payment accounts, virtual IBANs, and named accounts powered by ClearBank to enterprise merchants and payment service providers. These services leverage Volt’s real-time payment initiation capabilities.
These features enable businesses to monitor the entire payment process, automate reconciliation processes, and handle payouts and refunds more efficiently. Previously, global merchants using real-time payments had limited access to these functionalities, but now they can achieve feature parity with card-based payments through Open Banking.
Steffen Vollert, Volt’s co-founder and CEO, stated that the partnership aligns with the company’s mission of meeting complex money management needs at scale. The goal is to unlock the full potential of peer-to-peer (P2P) payments both in Europe and globally.
John Salter, ClearBank’s Chief Customer Officer, noted that this partnership will help Volt offer superior payment solutions and improved customer experiences across the UK and Europe. ClearBank focuses on ensuring resilience, scalability, and regulatory compliance to support growth. Together, Volt and ClearBank aim to enhance financial services for users regardless of their location.
Recent Collaborations by ClearBank
This partnership builds on other recent initiatives by ClearBank. In January 2026, ClearBank partnered with PhotonPay to expand the latter’s access to the UK domestic payment infrastructure. Prior to that, ClearBank collaborated with Taurus to utilize its digital asset services for stablecoin operations.
