Under a new partnership, Bolt and Affirm are collaborating to make Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) services more accessible through Bolt’s checkout process in the United States.

This collaboration means that merchants utilizing Bolt’s checkout technology can offer BNPL options to their eligible customers without needing extra technical setup.

Initially, the new service will be rolled out to a select group of merchants this month before expanding across Bolt’s extensive network of US-based retailers. Affirm’s offerings will integrate seamlessly into Bolt’s streamlined one-click checkout process, coexisting alongside traditional payment methods like credit cards, and enabling both registered users and guest shoppers alike.

Streamlining the BNPL Experience

The arrangement is meant to enhance convenience for customers while preserving a consistent shopping experience. Bolt representatives explain that by integrating one BNPL provider throughout its platform, they aim to simplify access to instalment payments without causing disruption at checkout.

During checkout, shoppers choosing Affirm can opt for biweekly or monthly payment plans with the option of interest-free periods when available. Once approved, users will see tailored repayment schedules based on their individual eligibility.

Affirm’s policy is to avoid late fees and compounded interest, which aligns with their strategy in consumer lending.

Affirm officials state that this partnership supports their goal of clearer payment terms for customers while also helping scale their offerings for merchants. Partnering with Bolt opens up access to a broader range of online retailers, allowing Affirm to be more prominently featured earlier in the purchasing decision process.

For merchants, integrating Affirm into Bolt’s system can increase checkout completion rates by providing additional payment flexibility without altering existing procedures. The integration is also aimed at ensuring consistent presentation of BNPL options across all Bolt-powered platforms.
