LSEG has enhanced its engagement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) as part of efforts to upgrade the processing and dissemination of real-time market information.

This collaboration centers on LSEG’s Real-Time – Full Tick and Real-Time – Optimised services, critical for delivering substantial volumes of financial data updates utilized by trading firms, banks, and other organizations.

Through this partnership, AWS infrastructure will support the collection, routing, and distribution of LSEG’s real-time data. The arrangement combines AWS services with LSEG’s private cloud to enhance access speed, scalability, and operational stability for customers.

LSEG distributes market data from over 575 exchanges and trading platforms worldwide, covering more than 100 million financial products. Its real-time network processes hundreds of billions of data points daily, with peak rates reaching tens of millions per second during periods of intense activity or market stress.

Emphasizing Scalability for Growing Data Volumes

LSEG representatives noted that this move aligns with a broader cloud transformation strategy and responds to increased demand for real-time data driven by advancements in automation, analytics, and artificial intelligence across financial markets. They stated the changes are aimed at modernizing core services rather than introducing new ones.

AWS officials highlighted that this collaboration is intended to assist financial institutions in managing expanding market data volumes through cloud infrastructure capable of handling high-speed processing of numerous data points. Combining AWS systems with LSEG’s existing distribution network is expected to deliver more reliable performance during peak usage times.

This announcement builds on an existing relationship between the two entities, with AWS already serving as LSEG’s primary cloud provider for several divisions, including market operations, risk intelligence services, and FTSE Russell indices business.

Headquartered in the UK, LSEG operates internationally across Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific, and other regions. With a global workforce of over 26,000 employees, it provides infrastructure, data, and analytics services for various asset classes.
