N26 has entered into a new membership agreement with Wero, the pan-European digital wallet and instant payment solution developed by the European Payment Initiative.
This strategic collaboration aims to enhance N26’s service offerings in Europe, particularly in Germany, France, and the Netherlands, ensuring accessible, convenient, and secure payment solutions for its customers.
The integration of Wero into N26 is expected to provide users with another streamlined and user-friendly digital payment option. This partnership will enable a simpler, more efficient payment experience that prioritizes ease-of-use and security.
Enhancing the Payment Experience with Wero
N26 plans to offer new features through this collaboration, including:
- P2P Payments (starting in H2 2026, N26 customers can send money directly within the app to friends and family, even non-N26 account holders).
- Instant Transactions leveraging SEPA rails for quick transfers.
- IBAN-less Convenience allowing users to make payments using phone numbers or email addresses.
The development of European payment solutions like Wero is crucial for enhancing the digital landscape and offering diverse payment methods. This partnership aims to improve N26’s product range and align with its goal of facilitating the payments customers need.
N26 intends to launch this integration initially in Germany, France, and the Netherlands by H2 2026.
