Payhawk, a finance orchestration platform, has entered into a partnership with Invopop to enhance pan-European eInvoicing compliance and automation.

This collaboration aims to broaden Payhawk’s eInvoicing capabilities across Europe. It will enable finance teams to receive, validate, approve, and pay structured electronic invoices directly within the platform without additional systems or integrations.

The focus on turning regulatory changes into operational advantages

Both companies are committed to harnessing compliance automation with intuitive workflows and robust ERP integrations. This will help finance teams manage complexity, boost efficiency, and foster smarter financial practices across Europe.

With the European business environment expected to transform due to VAT regulations, countries like Italy introduced B2B eInvoicing reforms in 2019, while Germany plans to mandate eInvoice receipt for B2B transactions from January 1, 2025. Belgium will follow with Peppol-based eInvoices starting in 2026, and France’s national rollout is scheduled for 2026-27, with Spain also considering similar measures.

These reforms aim to enhance transparency and combat fraud while accelerating digital transformation. However, for multinational companies, fragmented regulatory frameworks and varying formats—such as Factur-X and UBL—can introduce complexity and risk.

A single, connected compliance network

The partnership will deliver a unified eInvoicing solution by integrating Invopop’s certified Peppol connectivity and regulatory intelligence with Payhawk’s advanced AP automation. Structured eInvoices will be automatically validated against local standards before approval, payment, and real-time ERP reconciliation within the platform.

Finance teams can handle the entire eInvoicing process—from invoice reception to payment and ERP sync—in systems like NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Exact Online. This automation streamlines processes, enhances data integrity, and ensures ongoing compliance with each country’s eInvoicing requirements from a single platform.

As mandates evolve, the integration between Payhawk and Invopop will offer scalability, enabling customers to stay aligned with Europe’s regulatory landscape without needing additional systems or integrations. This partnership underscores Payhawk’s strategy of optimizing finance orchestration for modern businesses by connecting various financial touchpoints into one intelligent command center.
