PayPal has reintroduced itself to the UK market, offering a unified payment experience that extends both online and into bricks-and-mortar stores.
In line with its position as one of the most popular digital wallets in the UK, PayPal is rolling out its new loyalty program, PayPal+, which will launch for customers across the region on November 12, 2025. This program includes debit and credit cards to enhance convenience and reward user engagement.
Rewards for Shopping
PayPal+ aims to make shopping more rewarding by allowing users to earn points with every purchase made online or in-store through the PayPal balance, preferred card, or buy now pay later (BNPL) options. Points can be redeemed at participating global stores and are equivalent to £10 for every 1000 points.
By integrating with other loyalty programs, users can accumulate a larger total of points, stacking rewards from multiple sources. The program structure is tiered, beginning with the Blue level before progressing through Gold and then Black, each offering progressively higher reward values to loyal customers.
PayPal Debit Card: Universal Payment Solution
The introduction of PayPal debit cards marks a significant step in the company’s evolution from an online payment service to a versatile payment method available almost anywhere. Initially launched in the UK, the PayPal debit card can be used worldwide without transaction fees when paired with a PayPal account.
For users who sign up for PayPal+, they earn ten times more points on daily purchases made through their linked PayPal Debit Card. This integration simplifies spending tracking and consolidates rewards into one convenient platform accessible via the PayPal app, supporting contactless payments using smartphones.
PayPal Credit: Expansion to Physical Stores
A key feature of this relaunch is the introduction of PayPal Credit, now available both online and in physical stores through a virtual card. This provides users with flexible payment options at checkout points and allows them to earn additional PayPal+ points.
