The tool introduces an additional function known as Search Upcoming Bills, which notifies users before each payment is processed on a monthly basis. Customers can then either approve payments with a single tap or choose full automation. According to Nubank representatives, the dual system aims to give users better control over their recurring expenses while maintaining convenience.
As part of this rollout, Nubank customers will start receiving monthly alerts in advance through the Search Upcoming Bills function. This allows them to either authorize payments manually or fully automate the process. Over the next week, this feature will be gradually introduced to more customers.
To set up Automated Pix, users initiate the process by scanning a QR code or entering a Pix key provided by the billing entity within the Nubank app. If the payment is compatible with automation, Nubank prompts users to either authorize automatic monthly charges or set up alerts for each transaction.
The security measures for Automated Pix are consistent with those used in Nubank’s broader Pix offerings. These include PIN confirmation for approved transactions, real-time alerts for suspicious activity, ‘Street Mode’ limitations for unsecured environments, customizable daily Pix limits, and a list of approved contacts. Users retain full control over their preferences through the Payment Assistant section within the app, allowing them to pause, cancel, or amend existing authorizations at any time.
