BBVA has partnered with Mastercard and Sabre Direct Pay to enhance payment methods for travel agencies in Mexico, introducing a virtual card solution.
This initiative allows travel agencies to generate secure VCNs (Vendor Credit Number) per transaction, enhancing control and reducing the risk of manual errors, while integrating seamlessly with backend systems for reconciliation.
Enhancing Payment Solutions for Travel Agencies
The partnership reflects a shared goal among BBVA, Mastercard, and Sabre Direct Pay to create a more digitalized and efficient payment ecosystem for the travel industry. Plans include expanding the solution into South America and Europe in the future.
A key advantage of this new offering is its robust payment controls, such as issuing unique VCNs for each transaction, providing enhanced transparency and control through simplified integration with BBVA, Mastercard, and Sabre Direct Pay systems.
In contrast to traditional payment methods that often lead to manual reconciliation issues, delayed settlements, and paper-based errors, the BBVA solution ensures near-instant settlement, greater transaction detail, and better alignment with accounting systems. This improvement enhances clients’ digital experiences in critical areas like treasury management.
Mastercard’s objective is to provide a secure way for agencies to manage supplier payments through VCNs, which offer superior control and protection. Sabre Direct Pay aligns with this vision, expressing positive sentiments about the collaboration. BBVA selected Sabre Direct Pay due to its secure and flexible payment platform, designed to support industry needs.
BBVA caters to a range of clients from large corporations to SMEs, offering adaptable solutions that meet their specific demands while maintaining an international presence with experienced advice.
