Payments firm Cashfree Payments has expanded its services to include Apple Pay for international cards, aiming to reduce cart abandonment among Indian merchants selling in global markets.
Aiming to Enhance Global Operations
Cashfree Payments is committed to aiding Indian businesses as they expand their operations internationally. By integrating Apple Pay into its offerings, the company seeks to improve payment ease for international customers and support borderless ecommerce on a larger scale.
Reduction in Drop-Off Rates
The introduction of Apple Pay through Cashfree’s International Payment Gateway (IPG) is designed to simplify the payment process for businesses. According to Cashfree, this move could lead to up to 75% fewer drop-offs among Indian exporters in high-intent markets like the US, UAE, and EU.
During the festive season, when global demand for Indian goods rises significantly, Apple Pay will enable a faster, more secure checkout experience. This helps both international buyers and merchants maximize sales during peak periods.
Security and Convenience
Cashfree’s Apple Pay integration includes biometric authentication and tokenized card data to ensure only verified device owners can initiate transactions. This feature also offers an additional layer of fraud protection for users.
For now, the new capability is live for all merchants using Cashfree’s IPG and works directly on iOS devices via Safari or in-app without requiring any changes to current checkout setups.
